Telemedicine Virtual Visits and Telehealth Services
It is a primary goal of Greater Atlanta Family Health Care to be accessible to our patients even when they are unable to come into the office. We are proud to offer telemedicine Virtual Visits and Telehealth Services on a case by case basis for our patients! Telemedicine is a healthcare tool covered by Private Insurance and Medicare that allows for office visits to be conducted remotely using your computer, tablet, or Smart Phone. Examples of virtual visits would be consultations for sick visits, medication refills, follow up on test results, and problem-focused visits. The quality of telemedicine has been proven by extensive research.
Telemedicine is considered a safe, cost-effective, and convenient way to provide healthcare services. Our patients will have a face-to-face appointment with one of our experienced providers who will provide an in-depth appointment addressing your concerns. If necessary, the provider can prescribe medication, complete refills, and refer for additional testing just as though you are in the office. Virtual Visits will be conducted through our user-friendly and secure patient portal.
To schedule a Virtual Visit, use our patient portal via the Healow or call our office and speak with one of our knowledgeable employees.
How to Prepare for a Telehealth Virtual Visit
The patient will receive an appointment reminder 24-72 hours prior to the scheduled appointment date. At least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment time, the patient will receive a text and/or email with a link to log into the tele visit. The patient will complete the pre-screening questions and enter vitals (i.e. temperature, blood pressure, etc.) before connecting with the doctor. All patients should set up their patient portal account by visiting the patient portal. Patients may also download the Healow App onto their mobile device. The Healow App also allows connection to smart devices (i.e. Fitbit watches).
